Welcome! This website focuses specifically on improving your connection and interaction with God during your own real-life experiences specifically by being discipled (or taught) by His Spirit within you. The Keys website does not focus on telling you what to do to get into a relationship with God (if you want help with that, feel free to contact us). KeysToUnderstandingLife.com focuses on how to get the most out of relating with God in real-life. It is intended to encourage and support you in improving your part of your relationship with Him.

A Little More About
KeysToUnderstandingLife.com
Spiritual growth and getting answers during our real-life problems doesn't always happen simply because we want to be closer to God. Spiritual growth involves change within us. Spiritual growth isn't just about learning more about God by reading the Bible (although that is important). Spiritual growth is also about how to hear Him with spiritual ears, how to interact with Him with your spiritual heart, how to get His help and counsel, and how to make sense of real-life experiences in the spiritual ways we know the Bible talks about. Doing all that means we have to educate ourselves both intellectually AND practically. It involves improving our introspection skill sets. Spiritual growth and getting answers deals with learning how to solve our problems and make decisions spiritually, i.e., in a two-way interaction with The Spirit - The Teacher!
Experiencing two-way interaction with God involves developing spiritual relationship skill sets demonstrated in the Scriptures. Those include a study of the Bible, speaking to Him (in prayer), and it includes hearing Him with our hearts (our spiritual ears so to speak). Between those three skills, the last one (hearing His guidance and counsel during trials) is the one Keys orients on because it is the one for which there isn't as much training made available.
To learn to "hear" the Holy Spirit well and more consistently, it helps to know a bit more about to use God's "Keys." Did you know that God designed us to be able to interact with Him spiritually as well as to be able to participate in the spiritual war? That design includes our hearts, minds, emotions, desires, feelings, passions, etc. God designed each of those aspects of us to work in certain ways, according to certain spiritual principles based on what is happening to us spiritually in a given situation. To experience more real-life interaction with God, practical spiritual training that takes into account our real-life situations and experiences is important. That kind of training is all about using and transforming our hearts and minds during real-life issues, by actively cooperating with God.
Each of the "Keys" to understanding life (shown under the portrait image above) are involved in getting the most out of our relationships with God, not just to get into a relationship with Him! It is important to be open to that. Each "Key" relates to a spiritual listening process that we can go through concerning any trial, problem or challenge. Whether we were aware of it or not, we all have gone through that spiritual listening process successfully during at least some of our real-life trials (trials being real-life problems that have spiritual issues behind them). The goal, of course, is to discover how to do it with greater awareness and more consistently. (Hopefully you know who works to keep us from doing that more consistently!) Improving in this area is what more advanced spiritual warfare training is all about! Improving in this area is the essence of practical discipleship, or what the Bible calls, "discipleship beyond the elementary teachings of Christ." This is the focus of the Keys website and the spiritual warfare tools and materials presented on the site.
